About site

2000 to 2010 period saw many CMS systems (content management systems) appearing, both commercial and open-source. Cloud solutions like Shopify or Wix didn't exist back then so most users had to run their own servers and special software.

Probably, hundreds of CMS projects existed, and Artiphp was one of the popular ones created in France circa 2004. It was written in PHP – perhaps the most popular web programming language at that time.

Around 2012 a number of security vulnerabilities were discovered in Artiphp and the popularity started to decline. The latest released version was 5.5.0.
